Fireworks!

There’s always something going on in Granada and tonight was no exception. We were sitting outside our friends’ restaurant Bocadillos enjoying a few Victoria Frosts and mojitos when suddenly the sky exploded with fireworks. Turns out there was a big wedding at the Iglesia San Francisco right up the road. I gotta say, I walk by this church every day on my way to the office I rent (which is in the Bocadillo’s loft, btw) and I think it’s one of the most beautiful and majestic buildings I’ve ever seen. First Gig in Granada at Imagine Restaurant and Bar

I finally played my first gig here in Granada at a great little restaurant and bar called Imagine, after the classic John Lennon song. Several months ago I emailed the owner, Kevin, out of the blue asking if he had any slots open. I figured he was probably booked solid and would tell me he could fit me in sometime in the next few months, during which time I could practice for the show. I was wrong. He responded asking if I could play that very Friday night from night from 8pm – 11pm! I was in no way prepared for something that soon since I had done no serious practice since arriving here in August. I explained this and declined, promising that I would be in touch again in a few weeks, after I’d had time to practice.
