Location: Calle El Caimito, from Parque Central, 2 blocks towards the lake. El Camello is one of our favorite places to grab lunch. It’s a Mediterranean food joint on Calle El Cisne and Calle El Caimito. The food is light fare that won’t slow you down for the rest of the day. I’ve never been a huge fan of falafel balls, and this place hasn’t changed that. I can’t really chime in on whether they are good or bad, although I suspect they are at least on par with the best falafel balls out there. What I can recommend, however, is the chicken shawarma. You can get it either as a sandwich wrapped in a pita or as a plate. I usually get the plate because I prefer to use a knife and fork. I’m sophisticated that way.
